Bring your expertise as an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) professional to a meaningful contract role supporting middle school students district-wide. This part-time opportunity for the 2026/2027 school year focuses on providing essential direct and consultative APE services across multiple campuses, ensuring students receive individualized, accessible physical education experiences.
Desired Experience & Skills:
- Current Adaptive Physical Education teaching certification or licensure (where applicable)
- Strong background working in school settings, preferably with middle school students
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with disabilities in educational environments
- Superior communication and collaboration abilities, with an openness to working closely with staff and families
- Proven ability to balance direct service delivery and consultative support
- Excellent time management and organizational skills vital for traveling among sites
- Dependable transportation for district-wide responsibilities
- Must meet requirements for background screening, fingerprinting, and drug screening
- Reliability in both attendance and reporting absences appropriately
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver customized, adaptive physical education instruction and assessments to eligible students
- Provide consultative support to teaching teams and service providers
- Travel among middle school campuses to ensure continuity of care and services
- Document student progress, goals, and adaptations in collaboration with the IEP team
- Communicate regularly with educators, administrators, and families to support student success
- Stay current with best practices and regulations in adaptive physical education
This is an onsite-only, part-time position (approx. 22.5 days/week), offering flexibility for those seeking a balanced schedule while positively impacting students physical education experiences.
