Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 School Nurse to provide specialized care for an elementary student with a tracheostomy at our year-round school in Lapeer, Michigan. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the life of a student while working within a supportive school community.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one nursing care to an elementary student with a tracheostomy during school hours.
Perform tracheostomy care, including suctioning, monitoring, and maintaining airway patency.
Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by healthcare providers.
Monitor the student's vital signs, oxygen saturation levels, and overall health status.
Communicate effectively with the student, family members, school staff, and healthcare team.
Collaborate with school administrators and educators to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for the student.
Maintain accurate documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

Qualifications:

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Michigan.
Experience in pediatric nursing, tracheostomy care, and/or school nursing preferred.
CPR certification required.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, following the school calendar for the year-round program.
