This contract opportunity seeks an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) ready to deliver high-quality respiratory support to individuals of varying acuity. Your expertise and compassionate approach will help improve outcomes for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
Schedule:
- Three 12-hour night shifts per week
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Valid respiratory therapy license (or eligibility for licensure)
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Proven experience in acute care respiratory therapy
- Strong teamwork, communication, and patient assessment skills
- Adaptable and calm under pressure, with the ability to make quick clinical decisions
Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and implement respiratory care interventions as part of the patient care team
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as oxygen therapy, ventilator management, airway care, and blood gas analysis
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on individualized care
- Educate patients and families about respiratory equipment, therapies, and self-care techniques
- Ensure accurate documentation of treatments, progress, and outcomes according to facility policy
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, including code blue and rapid response calls
