Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a professional image and foster excellent relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers, exemplifying service excellence standards and core values.
- Deliver direct patient respiratory care, including advanced procedures and, if specially trained, hyperbaric medicine, throughout the facility.
- Adhere to all policy and procedural guidelines while organizing workload efficiently to ensure timely completion of prescribed therapies.
- Engage actively in departmental educational sessions, meetings, and initiatives to stay current in best practices.
- Document and maintain patient records, charts, and reports accurately and punctually.
- Respond quickly and efficiently to Code Blue and Rapid Response alerts, providing immediate care and clear documentation.
- Use sharp clinical judgment and assessment skills to deliver optimal patient care, coordinate with other medical professionals, and share important patient information.
- Assess patient care regularly, offering recommendations for improvements where needed.
- For those with specialized training, perform pulmonary function testing, methacholine challenges, hyperbaric medicine, NICU and PICU care, as well as asthma education.
- Perform auxiliary duties as assigned across all respiratory care functions.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Current state licensure to practice respiratory therapy.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to thrive in new settings and blend into a fast-paced team.
- Experience with acute and critical care preferred.
