Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Current credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the NBRC.
  • Valid license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Demonstrated experience in acute care settings, including critical care and emergency response.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; additional certifications preferred.
  • Solid understanding of pulmonary function, ventilator management, and airway care.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and fellow healthcare professionals.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to patient safety.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Schedule may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays depending on facility needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer respiratory therapies and interventions for patients with acute or chronic cardiopulmonary disorders.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to therapy, making necessary adjustments as indicated.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen delivery systems.
  • Participate in rapid response or code teams, providing emergency airway management.
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory care procedures and home care management when applicable.
  • Accurately document treatments and patient progress in accordance with clinical and regulatory requirements.
