Qualifications:

  • Current and valid credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Active state licensure as required
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
  • Experience working in acute care or hospital settings
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform respiratory therapy treatments and procedures as ordered by physicians
  • Assess respiratory status and conduct diagnostic respiratory tests (such as ABGs, spirometry, and pulse oximetry)
  • Administer medications, oxygen therapy, and mechanical ventilation
  • Monitor and document patient progress, making recommendations for changes in therapy as needed
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to develop and update care plans
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide life support as necessary
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory care and equipment usage
  • Maintain accurate records following hospital policies and regulatory requirements
