As a Registered Respiratory Therapist specializing in neonatal transport, youll work within a dynamic NICU environment, encountering advanced technology and collaborating with dedicated professionals. This role offers invaluable insight into various workplace and leadership styles, enhancing your skill set in high-acuity neonatal transport and critical care. By supporting complex cases and participating in neonatal transport, youll expand your resume and enjoy professional growth that comes from adapting to diverse healthcare settings.
Schedule/Hours:
- 2-3 shifts per week
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of NICU transport experience
- RRT/CRT, NRP, PALS certifications required; STABLE preferred
- Experience with neonatal airway management and advanced ventilation (HFOV, CPAP/NIV, HFNC)
- Familiarity with transport ventilator systems (Hamilton, Cross Vent, TXP)
- Knowledge of ground and air transport operations, equipment troubleshooting, EMS integration, isolette systems
- Strong communication and crisis management abilities
- Proficiency in documenting transport events and patient assessments
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct safe, efficient neonatal transport, managing patient airways, ventilation, and stabilization
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced transport and monitoring equipment
- Deliver care for critical neonatal conditions (RDS, MAS, PPHN, BPD, sepsis)
- Support point-of-care testing and assist with line placements and stabilization
- Adhere to infection control and hospital safety protocols
