Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in either Pediatric ICU or Neonatal ICU settings
- Active and valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
- Current state licensure to practice respiratory care
- Knowledge of advanced respiratory techniques, therapies, and ventilator management
- Strong assessment, clinical documentation, and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams
- BLS and PALS certifications preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality respiratory therapy interventions to critically ill pediatric and neonatal patients as directed by physicians
- Operate and maintain ventilators, oxygen equipment, and other medical devices in accordance with best practices and infection control standards
- Assess patient respiratory status, interpret diagnostic results, and report changes promptly to the care team
- Initiate emergency procedures and respond to codes as needed
- Educate patients families on respiratory therapies and equipment usage
- Accurately document all care, progress, and changes according to healthcare policies
