Job Description
A Registered Respiratory Therapist is needed for a 15-week contract assignment in Pahoa, HI, providing specialized care in a hospital setting. This role focuses on adult, pediatric, and neonatal respiratory care, requiring solid experience and state licensure.
Responsibilities include continuous airway management, ventilator and non-invasive ventilator support, and physician consultation. You will perform all aspects of respiratory therapy, including CPR, while utilizing advanced equipment such as PB 980 and PB 840 ventilators, V60, Para Pac Transport Ventilator, computerized charting, and medication management systems.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- State of Hawaii Respiratory Therapy License (mandatory at contract start)
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (no first assignments)
- Proficient in managing adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
- Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS required; RRT and NRP preferred
- Ability to comply with facilitys flu vaccination requirements (vaccination or approved exemption before start)
- Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday
Schedule:
- Night Shift: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours)
- No guarantee of hours
This contract assignment requires punctual arrival before the start date, with the understanding that flu vaccination can be administered during employee health clearance. Flexibility and professionalism in providing comprehensive respiratory care across populations are essential.
