Schedule/Hours:

  • Travel position (exact shifts to be determined with assignment specifics)

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • Proficiency in pediatric respiratory care, including:
    • Medicated aerosol therapy (small volume, breath actuated, and vibrating mesh nebulizers)
    • Patient education on aerosol, MDI, DPI therapy
    • Pentamidine administration, medication carts, and Omnicell workflows
    • Airway clearance techniques (clapping, vibration, PEP, hyperinflation, IPV, cough assist)
    • Comprehensive airway management (suctioning, tracheostomy care, intubation assist)
    • Mechanical and assisted ventilation, CPAP, BiPAP, NIMV, NAVA
    • High-risk delivery support, surfactant administration, adherence to NRP protocols
    • Blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation
    • Humidity therapy, including heated humidity and HME use
    • Application of clinical care pathways (asthma, CF, RDS, BPD)
    • Monitoring (pulse oximetry, capnography, ventilator graphics)
    • Transport of neonates and pediatric patients with advanced respiratory support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based respiratory care and education to pediatric patients and their families
  • Administer complex therapies and interventions, including advanced ventilation and airway management
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for high-risk deliveries and rapid response situations
  • Ensure precise documentation and adherence to clinical practice guidelines
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and special gas therapies
