Desired Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Valid BLS certification; ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications preferred
- Experience in acute care or hospital settings, including neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations
- Proficient in the use of respiratory care techniques and equipment
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities
Typical Responsibilities:
- Assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders
- Administer oxygen, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy per physician orders
- Monitor and document patient response to therapy, reporting changes promptly
- Operate and maintain ventilators and other respiratory equipment
- Respond swiftly as an active member of the rapid response and code blue teams
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and equipment use
