Desired Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Valid BLS certification; ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications preferred
  • Experience in acute care or hospital settings, including neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations
  • Proficient in the use of respiratory care techniques and equipment
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders
  • Administer oxygen, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy per physician orders
  • Monitor and document patient response to therapy, reporting changes promptly
  • Operate and maintain ventilators and other respiratory equipment
  • Respond swiftly as an active member of the rapid response and code blue teams
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care plans
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and equipment use
