Qualifications & Experience
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Current state license to practice as an RRT
- Previous pediatric respiratory care experience preferred
- Proficiency in advanced pediatric interventions, including aerosol therapy, airway management, and mechanical ventilation
- Ability to interpret blood gases and initiate protocols in a range of situations, including high-risk deliveries
Responsibilities
- Deliver a comprehensive range of respiratory therapies for pediatric patients, from medicated aerosol therapy to advanced airway management
- Educate and instruct patients and families in medication protocols, device use, and disease management
- Perform airway clearance techniques, ventilator system checks, and mechanical ventilation management
- Conduct advanced monitoring, including capnography, pulse oximetry, and transcutaneous CO2
- Provide support during high-risk deliveries, assist with surfactant administration, and participate with the Neonatal Rapid Response Team
- Maintain and calibrate respiratory equipment; follow established clinical guidelines and protocols
