Job Description

A reputable healthcare setting is seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist to support patient care on a contract basis. This critical role is ideal for a compassionate clinician skilled in delivering exceptional respiratory therapy to diverse patient populations.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active license and certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Proven skills in assessing, planning, and delivering respiratory care
  • Experience with ventilator management, nebulizer administration, and airway care
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with interdisciplinary teams
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
  • Prior hospital-based or acute care experience is strongly preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients and devise individualized respiratory care plans in collaboration with physicians
  • Administer a variety of respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and bronchodilator treatments
  • Perform diagnostic testing such as arterial blood gases and pulmonary function tests
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as needed to achieve positive outcomes
  • Respond to emergency situations and participate in code response teams as required
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques, equipment usage, and disease management
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses
