Seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide expert respiratory care in a dynamic healthcare setting. In this contract position, you will deliver high-quality support to patients with a range of respiratory needs. Your expertise will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care.
Qualifications & Experience Needed:
- Valid and current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Active license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist
- Proven clinical experience in respiratory care, preferably in hospital or acute settings
- Proficiency with ventilators, airway management, and pulmonary function testing
- Strong knowledge of respiratory medications, oxygen therapy, and related equipment
- Excellent problem-solving, assessment, and communication skills
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and implement respiratory care for patients of varying acuity
- Administer respiratory therapies, including aerosol, oxygen, and chest physiotherapy
- Set up, monitor, and manage mechanical ventilators and other advanced respiratory equipment
- Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to support patient care plans
- Perform arterial blood gas analysis and interpret clinical data
- Document treatments, observations, and patient progress accurately in the medical record
- Instruct patients and families on managing chronic respiratory disease as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, following hospital protocols and safety regulations
