Key Qualifications:
- Valid credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Current state licensure as required
- Previous clinical experience in an acute care or hospital setting strongly preferred
- Proficient in administering and monitoring respiratory treatments, ventilators, and oxygen therapies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patient and family education
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct respiratory care including assessment, treatment, and evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary disorders
- Administer therapeutic and diagnostic procedures such as nebulizer treatments, arterial blood gas collection, and pulmonary function testing
- Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators and related equipment
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals to develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans
- Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies, equipment use, and home care techniques
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility protocols and regulatory standards
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond to emergencies promptly and appropriately
