Job Description

This contract position calls for a Registered Respiratory Therapist with a solid background in pediatric intensive care (PICU) or neonatal intensive care (NICU) settings. Your clinical skills will play a vital role in supporting critically ill pediatric patients and their families.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a Pediatric ICU (PICU) or Neonatal ICU (NICU) setting
  • Active state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric and neonatal respiratory care protocols
  • Excellent communication skills and compassion for pediatric patients and families
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic clinical environment
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications (or obtained prior to start)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to pediatric and neonatal patients in intensive care environments
  • Monitor, assess, and adjust ventilator settings and other respiratory therapy equipment
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Provide detailed patient assessments, maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Educate patients families about care plans and provide emotional support as needed
  • Follow hospital protocols to ensure patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards
