As a key member of a multidisciplinary care team, youll spend the majority of your time in critical care settings, working with patients facing complex health challenges. Youll develop advanced clinical judgment, manage ventilator protocols, and make independent decisions that directly impact patient outcomes. Additionally, your role will encompass educating patients, families, and new healthcare professionals, allowing you to grow both as a clinician and mentor.
Key responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care for critically ill patients based on advanced knowledge and clinical protocols.
- Administer respiratory medications, manage ventilator support, and deliver integrated care in high-acuity settings.
- Deliver patient and family education tailored to individual needs.
- Facilitate the development of fellow staff and participate in onboarding and education for new team members.
- Demonstrate awareness of population-specific needs, addressing physical, emotional, developmental, and psychosocial factors in all aspects of patient care.
- Engage in professional growth and self-development activities to stay current with best practices.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Previous experience in acute or critical care environments strongly preferred.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work independently.
