Job Description

A full-time opportunity is available for a skilled Radiation Therapist specializing in Radiation Therapy within a well-established Cancer Services/Oncology department. This role offers a structured Monday through Friday schedule, working 8-hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with no weekend shifts required. The position is based primarily at a major medical center in Rochester, NY, with occasional floating duties across other Radiation Oncology locations.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid New York State Radiologic Technologists Therapy License is required.
  • Experience operating Ethos or Varian radiation therapy machines is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Strong communication skills and adaptability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Dependable, punctual, and flexible with the ability to adjust to department needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver precise radiation therapy treatments to oncology patients following prescribed protocols.
  • Operate and maintain advanced radiation therapy equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Collaborate with oncologists, physicists, and nursing staff to optimize patient care.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards within the Radiation Oncology department.
  • Provide compassionate patient support and education throughout therapy processes.
