Job Description

A skilled Radiation Therapist is needed for a contract position located in Peterborough, NH. Under the administrative direction of the Chief Therapist and clinical direction of the Radiation Oncologist, the therapist will provide essential radiation treatment and care to patients at a cancer care center. This role requires the ability to work independently and ensure safety and accuracy throughout all procedures.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current New Hampshire MIRT license in-hand, or willingness to complete the temporary licensing process including fingerprinting
  • Proficient in administering prescribed radiation treatments and operating radiation equipment safely
  • Experience assisting Radiation Oncologists with patient exams and simulations
  • Ability to inject skin markers or administer contrast media with demonstrated training and oncologist approval
  • Skilled in equipment calibration and adherence to radiation safety protocols
  • Strong documentation skills, including recording patient doses, histories, and reactions
  • Capable of managing scheduling, consultation, and billing tasks related to treatment

Responsibilities:

  • Administer radiation treatments, monitor patient and equipment conditions during therapy
  • Prepare patients, rooms, and equipment for treatments and simulations
  • Perform necessary equipment calibrations as required by regulatory standards
  • Observe and enforce radiation safety measures to protect patients and staff
  • Maintain accurate patient records, document unusual conditions, and report findings promptly
  • Support the clinical team with necessary procedural and administrative duties
