Job Description

An opportunity is available for an ARRT Registered Radiation Therapist to support cancer treatment through precise administration of radiation therapy as prescribed by Radiation Oncologists. This role requires strong interpersonal communication skills to interact compassionately and professionally with patients across all age groups, their families, physicians, nurses, and colleagues. The Radiation Therapist ensures accurate patient positioning, operation and warm-up of treatment machines, simulation setup, and maintenance of treatment records to facilitate effective therapy and patient comfort.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer radiation therapy safely and accurately following prescribed treatment plans.
  • Perform daily checks and warm-up of treatment and simulation equipment.
  • Position patients properly for treatment and simulation using immobilization devices.
  • Educate patients on treatment procedures and potential side effects to ease apprehension.
  • Monitor patient responses and report any adverse reactions to the care team.
  • Maintain detailed treatment records including photographs, portal films, and chart accuracy.
  • Ensure treatment and simulation rooms remain organized and fully stocked.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement and required inservice programs.
  • Assist with patient transport and support patient needs as necessary.

Qualifications or Desired Experience:

  • ARRT certification (required, please attach with submission).
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association (required, please attach).
  • Experience working with Elekta radiation therapy equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Previous experience in a community hospital setting is beneficial.
  • Availability for weekday shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
