A qualified Radiation Therapist, registered with ARRT, is needed to provide expert radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by Radiation Oncologists. This position requires a skilled professional who can deliver compassionate care to patients of all ages, from newborns to geriatrics, while working closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities include preparing patients for treatment by properly positioning and explaining procedures, operating and maintaining radiation therapy equipment including Elekta systems, performing simulation and portal imaging, and ensuring all treatment documentation is accurate and complete. The therapist will also monitor patients reactions during treatment, communicate effectively with physicians and nurses regarding patient status, and contribute to departmental performance improvement activities. Maintaining a clean, well-stocked treatment environment and ensuring safety protocols are followed is essential.
