An opportunity is available for a skilled Radiation Therapist to administer ionizing radiation treatments in a contract position based in Laramie, WY. This role requires precision and compassion to deliver prescribed radiation therapy, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout their treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed radiation therapy accurately and safely.
- Calculate procedure details, including exposure length, radiation dosage, and operation of recording equipment.
- Monitor and assess patients physiological and psychological responses daily to provide quality care.
- Participate in educating patients and the community about radiation therapy.
- Assist with billing and coding related to radiation therapy treatments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Associates degree in Radiation Therapy or Radiation Technology.
- Previous professional experience as a Radiation Therapist.
- Current and valid Wyoming Radiation Technologist license in good standing.
- Active ARRT certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, oncology, radiation biology, treatment planning, and dosimetry.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, accompanied by compassionate patient care.
- Ability to work independently with strong organizational, problem-solving, and computer proficiency skills.
- Commitment to ethical and legal standards in oncology patient care.
