Job Description
A clinical Radiation Therapist opportunity is available in Hillsborough, NH supporting cancer care patients under the supervision of the Chief Therapist and Radiation Oncologist. This contract role requires a highly skilled professional capable of working independently, delivering precise radiation therapy treatments with attention to safety and patient well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed radiation treatments, monitor patients and equipment throughout each session
- Prepare patients, rooms, and equipment for treatments and simulations; assist Radiation Oncologist during exams and simulations
- Perform equipment calibrations as mandated by radiation safety regulations
- Observe and enforce radiation safety protocols for patients and staff
- Record patient doses, document patient history and treatment reactions accurately, and communicate findings to radiologists
- Manage patient files, complete scheduling and billing processes, and maintain thorough documentation
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid NH MIRT license or willingness to complete the temporary licensure process including fingerprinting
- Demonstrated competence in radiation therapy techniques, including patient preparation and safety measures
- Ability to perform independently with excellent attention to detail
- Familiarity with administering contrast media or markers during simulation is preferred, with appropriate training
