Key Qualifications:
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy required
- Valid and current state license to practice as a Radiation Therapist
- Prior experience operating linear accelerators and related therapy equipment
- Deep understanding of radiation safety, protection measures, and dosimetry
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise treatment protocols
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
Schedule:
- Contract assignment
- Days and hours dependent on departmental needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver external beam radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by the radiation oncologist
- Accurately position patients and operate therapy equipment to ensure safe, effective treatment delivery
- Monitor and document each session, reporting deviations or side effects promptly
- Educate patients and families on procedures, potential side effects, and safety precautions
- Collaborate closely with physicians, physicists, and other healthcare staff to coordinate individualized patient care
- Maintain and verify calibration of therapy equipment, adhering to quality assurance standards
- Uphold strict adherence to infection control and confidentiality policies
