Job Description

Take on an important role supporting high-quality patient care at a busy outpatient surgery center specializing in orthopedic procedures. This assignment focuses on processing and maintaining sterile surgical instruments and trays, primarily for orthopedic cases, and offers exposure to a dynamic, collegial environment.

Schedule:

  • Start times vary between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM
  • 8-hour day shifts
  • Monday through Friday
  • No weekends or holidays required

Qualifications:

  • Experienced in sterile processing techniques within a healthcare environment
  • Certification in Sterile Processing Technology preferred, but not required
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required
  • Proven ability to follow protocols for infection prevention and instrument handling
  • Experience with orthopedic or surgical trays is strongly desired
  • Professionalism, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced surgical center

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean, decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays
  • Inspect instruments for function and cleanliness before use
  • Maintain accurate documentation and tracking for trays and supplies
  • Collaborate with clinical and perioperative staff to ensure timely equipment turnaround
  • Comply with all center policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Support the smooth flow of surgical cases by anticipating tray and equipment needs
