Job Description

A healthcare opportunity is available for a Sterile Processing Technician to support a busy medical center known for its advanced trauma and neonatal care as well as comprehensive stroke services. This role focuses on the critical task of ensuring surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned and sterilized to maintain patient safety and support medical procedures.

Shift and Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 1:00pm to 9:30pm
  • 40 hours per week
  • 13-week contract

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Sterile Processing Technician (Non-certified candidates will be considered)
  • Current BLS (AHA) certification
  • Proficiency with cleaning and sterilizing medical instruments including the DaVinci XI robot
  • Experience using sterilization equipment such as ultrasonic cleaners, Sterrad, V Pro systems, autoclaves, and Steris cart washers
  • Familiarity with healthcare technology systems like EPIC, Alaris, and Pyxis for charting and inventory control
  • Ability to maintain high standards of infection control and instrument processing

Responsibilities:

  • Operate washers, sterilizers, and other equipment to clean and sterilize surgical instruments
  • Manage the cleaning and sterilization of specialized robotic surgical tools
  • Maintain accurate records and utilize electronic charting systems for inventory and process tracking
  • Support clinical teams by providing timely and sterile instruments for surgical procedures
  • Adhere strictly to regulatory and safety protocols to ensure the highest quality standards

This 13-week contract offers a chance to work in a Level IV Trauma Center with a challenging clinical environment.
