Seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician with current certification to contribute expertise within a dynamic surgical environment. This contract opportunity plays a vital role in supporting both inpatient and outpatient surgical services, ensuring safe, efficient instrument processing across multiple procedure settings.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- No scheduled overtime, schedule may change based on unit needs
- Participation in on-call rotation: 6 days per month, including 1 weekend per month
Qualifications:
- Valid Sterile Processing Tech certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Experience working in sterile processing, preferably with both inpatient and outpatient perioperative units
- Strong knowledge of sterilization standards, instrument decontamination, and surgical tray assembly/disassembly
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and adapt to changing demands
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards for infection prevention
Responsibilities:
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, wrap, and sterilize instruments and surgical trays for four inpatient Operating Rooms, five outpatient operating rooms, and two outpatient endoscopy rooms
- Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of sterile supplies
- Collaborate closely with surgical, endoscopy, and nursing teams to meet procedure schedules and respond to urgent needs
- Adhere strictly to safety, infection control, and Joint Commission standards
- Comply with on-call requirements, promptly addressing requests for instrument processing outside routine hours
- Perform quality checks of processed equipment and report any inconsistencies

$1,367 - $1,442/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 40 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
