Job Description

Opportunity available for a skilled Sterile Processing Technician to support an outpatient surgery center specializing in orthopedic procedures and trays. The environment is collaborative and fast-paced, focused on maintaining rigorous standards of instrument sterilization and patient safety.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Start times vary between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM, followed by 8-hour shifts
  • Monday through Friday
  • No weekend or holiday shifts

Qualifications:

  • Experience in sterile processing required; orthopedic case experience preferred
  • Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician is preferred, but not required
  • Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required
  • Previous work in an outpatient surgery setting is advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to infection prevention protocols

Key Responsibilities:

  • Decontaminate, assemble, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
  • Ensure prompt and accurate processing of orthopedic trays and other case carts
  • Maintain detailed records and follow center-specific decontamination and sterilization procedures
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to fulfill surgical schedules and respond to emergent needs
  • Conduct routine quality assurance checks and inventory audits to support continuous compliance
