Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Proven experience in a Telemetry environment, with acute cardiac monitoring skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
- Ability to interpret EKGs and recognize abnormal cardiac rhythms
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor cardiac and vital sign readings, quickly identifying changes or abnormalities
- Collaborate with the broader care team to develop, assess, and revise individualized patient care plans
- Administer prescribed medications and interventions safely
- Document patient conditions and all nursing actions accurately in medical records
- Provide patient and family education on disease processes, monitoring devices, and care plans
- Respond to emergency situations using appropriate interventions in line with hospital protocols
- Maintain sterile environments and infection control standards at all times
