Job Description

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Proven experience in a Telemetry environment, with acute cardiac monitoring skills
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
  • Ability to interpret EKGs and recognize abnormal cardiac rhythms
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor cardiac and vital sign readings, quickly identifying changes or abnormalities
  • Collaborate with the broader care team to develop, assess, and revise individualized patient care plans
  • Administer prescribed medications and interventions safely
  • Document patient conditions and all nursing actions accurately in medical records
  • Provide patient and family education on disease processes, monitoring devices, and care plans
  • Respond to emergency situations using appropriate interventions in line with hospital protocols
  • Maintain sterile environments and infection control standards at all times
