Job Description

Advance your nursing skills in a surgical telemetry unit within a highly respected healthcare environment recognized for its commitment to safety and innovation. This 13-week opportunity offers night shifts (7:00 PM7:00 AM), with guaranteed weekly hours of either 36 or 48 (choice required upon submission), and participation in an accomplished care team providing evidence-based, compassionate care. Holiday and weekend hours are based on facility needs. Night shift orientation occurs on day shift, requiring full week availability for orientation.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active RN license (Missouri or eligible for Missouri licensure)
  • Minimum 1 year recent inpatient telemetry RN experience, including drug titration skills
  • BLS certification from AHA required
  • NIHSS certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
  • Four trauma credits (must acquire within two weeks if not already held)
  • ACLS from AHA preferred
  • Experience with trauma and specialty surgery (GI, GU, ENT, Urology) patients preferred
  • EPIC EMR and Alaris pump familiarity preferred
  • Collaborative, calm, and communicative approach highly valued
  • Must meet facility vaccination/exemption requirements (flu vaccination NovemberApril)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process for post-trauma, medical comorbidities, and surgical intervention patients
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, maintaining professional accountability
  • Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments, monitor patient response, and ensure patient rights/confidentiality
  • Participate in unit rotation as needed; manage patient ratios typical for telemetry night shift
  • Uphold mission, values, and service standards in all interactions
