Job Description

Deliver quality patient care as a Registered Nurse specializing in Telemetry within a surgical unit. This contract role is based in a healthcare environment that values clinical expertise, collaboration, and patient-centered care. The unit serves patients with a focus on specialty surgery, including GI, GU, ENT, and Urology cases, and operates with advanced medical equipment and a renowned reputation for its standards of safety and care.

Schedule & Hours:

  • Night shifts (1900-0700)
  • 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week (as indicated upon submission)
  • 13-week duration
  • Weekend shifts as required

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license (eligible or current in Missouri)
  • Minimum one year of recent inpatient Telemetry nursing experience
  • BLS certification from AHA (required)
  • Four trauma education credits (or completed within two weeks of start)
  • NIHSS certification (may obtain prior to start)
  • Competence with drug titration
  • Ability to float within units as needed
  • Preferred: ACLS from AHA, trauma experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation processes
  • Coordinate care activities with multidisciplinary teams and ancillary departments
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality at all times
  • Monitor and operate telemetry and other electronic monitoring equipment
  • Stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift; physical demands include assisting with patient transfers
  • Uphold established standards aligned with nursing practice, state law, and facility values
