Job Description

Deliver specialized patient care in a dynamic surgical telemetry unit within a highly respected hospital setting. This 13-week contract opportunity is ideal for nurses with a background in monitoring surgical, trauma, and complex post-op cases, keen on making a measurable difference in patient outcomes. The unit features 32 beds and utilizes the EPIC EMR system, offering exposure to a wide range of surgical specialties including GI, GU, ENT, and Urology.

Schedule & Hours:

  • Night shift: 19:00 07:00
  • Guaranteed weekly hours: 36 or 48, as indicated on your submission
  • Weekend hours as required
  • Orientation takes place during day shift; full week availability is essential

Requirements:

  • Current RN license in Missouri or eligibility for MO licensure
  • BLS (AHA only); ACLS preferred
  • NIHSS (must obtain prior to start if not already certified)
  • Four trauma credits (or obtain within two weeks of start)
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient tele experience, including competence in drug titration
  • Willingness to float on a rotational basis
  • Calm, collaborative, and communicative approach
  • Physical capacity for frequent standing, patient turning, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Compliance with hospital dress code (black scrubs required)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care, utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation)
  • Monitor and coordinate patient activities with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality at all times
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive care
  • Evaluate care provided by other direct caregivers
