An excellent opportunity awaits for experienced registered nurses in a high-acuity cardiac and telemetry unit. This full-time contract position is ideal for compassionate, driven professionals eager to deliver complex and evidence-based care. The unit specializes in cardiac and telemetry patients (not a stepdown unit) and offers a supportive environment focused on ongoing professional development.
Schedule/Hours:
- Day shift: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
Key Qualifications:
- Current RN license in the state of employment or compact
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Minimum of one year of telemetry or cardiac nursing experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills to address psychological, emotional, and social needs
Responsibilities:
- Independently assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with professional and facility standards
- Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1, ensuring safe and effective care delivery
- Administer medications and treatments following established protocols, monitoring for effectiveness and side effects
- Complete accurate and thorough documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and interventions
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers to promote understanding of health conditions and care plans
- Delegate appropriately to support staff and collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Complete all orientation and competency requirements, including New Nurses Orientation and ongoing annual verification
