Job Description
Deliver exceptional, patient-centered care on a cardiac and telemetry unit as a seasoned registered nurse dedicated to making a difference each shift. This full-time contract position offers a night schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM and is ideal for professionals who enjoy the dynamic pace and fulfilling challenges of telemetry nursing. With a focus on competent, independent practice, you will care for patients with cardiac and telemetry needs (not a stepdown unit), collaborating closely with a supportive team and working every other weekend.
Schedule:
- Nights: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN license in the state of employment or compact
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Minimum 12 years of general nursing experience
- At least 6 months of recent telemetry experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, effective, and individualized care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation)
- Administer medications and monitor responses according to established protocols
- Document patient conditions, care provided, medications, and treatments thoroughly and accurately
- Educate patients and their families on health issues and care plans
- Serve as a resource and mentor for new staff or residents during orientation as needed
- Adhere to all competency validation and annual verification requirements
