This full-time contract position requires expertise in managing diverse cardiac and telemetry patients (non-Stepdown), working alongside a dedicated interdisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care.
Schedule:
- Day shift: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
Qualified candidates will bring:
- Active RN license for the state of employment or current compact licensure
- BLS certification from AHA (required)
- ACLS certification from AHA (required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- At least one year of recent experience in telemetry or a related nursing specialty is preferred
- Commitment to completing a comprehensive orientation and ongoing annual competency validation
Key responsibilities:
- Independently provide comprehensive care to cardiac and telemetry patients utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Monitor and administer medications and treatments, assessing for side effects and ensuring efficacy
- Thoroughly document patient histories, symptoms, and nursing interventions
- Educate patients and families on their care plans, identify learning needs, and provide appropriate resources and support
- Function as a collaborative team member, delegating tasks appropriately to optimize patient outcomes
- Actively participate in organizational competency programs, orientation, and required skills validation
