Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour day shifts: 7AM 7PM
  • Full-time position
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirement

Qualifications/Experience:

  • RN license in state of employment or compact
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • At least one year of experience in cardiac or telemetry nursing preferred
  • Successful completion of organizational entry and MedSurg competency validations
  • New hires participate in orientation and/or a residency program, with annual competency verifications

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process for cardiac/telemetry patients (not a Stepdown unit)
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care
  • Manage and delegate assignments to ensure optimal clinical outcomes
  • Administer medications and monitor effectiveness and side effects
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and care in detail
  • Assess learning needs, providing education for patients and families
  • Continually develop coping and contingency management skills
