Job Description

Advance your nursing career by providing excellent care for cardiac and telemetry patients in a dynamic hospital environment. This opportunity offers a full-time contract position with a 12-hour day shift schedule, running from 7AM to 7PM, with an every-other-weekend commitment. Temp-to-perm conversion is possible depending on performance and facility needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active RN license (state of employment or compact)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • At least one year of clinical experience in cardiac or telemetry nursing preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team
  • Strong patient assessment, documentation, and communication skills
  • Commitment to ongoing competency and skills validation

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient care in accordance with the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address patient needs, including complex psychological, cultural, and social considerations
  • Administer medications and therapies safely, monitor efficacy and side effects, and follow protocol
  • Accurately document patient histories, symptoms, medications, and interventions
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health management and available resources
  • Participate in New Nurses Orientation and ongoing skill validations; support quality improvement initiatives

Additional Details:

  • Nurse/patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1, adjusted according to staffing levels
  • No on-call duties
  • The unit serves cardiac and telemetry patients (not a stepdown unit)
  • Newly hired nurses will complete orientation and preceptorship, with competency assessments
