Job Description

A full-time registered nurse with telemetry expertise is needed for a night shift role in Pineville, LA. This contract position focuses on delivering specialized cardiac and telemetry patient care in a dedicated unitnot a stepdown setting. The shift runs from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a schedule that includes every other weekend. Temp to perm opportunities may be available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care through the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
  • Administer medications and treatments following protocols; monitor and document patient responses.
  • Educate patients, family members, and caregivers on care plans and health management.
  • Collaborate with the care team and delegate tasks appropriately to manage clinical situations effectively.
  • Adhere to organizational competencies including leadership and professional standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse with a current RN license in the state of employment or compact license.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of nursing experience, including at least 6 months in telemetry nursing.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association are required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Completion of an orientation program and competency validations for new hires.
  • Ability to work independently and handle complex patient care scenarios.

Workload and Patient Ratio:

  • Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing.
  • The role does not include on-call requirements.
