Job Description

Provide specialized nursing care during night shifts in a cardiac-focused unit managing patients with myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, peripheral vascular disease, and occasional medical-surgical overflow. This role involves administering and monitoring cardiac drips (excluding nitrates), delivering both routine and complex care plans, and coordinating patient education and support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Manage psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document all patient history, symptoms, medications, and care activities accurately.
• Provide patient, family, and caregiver education tailored to learning needs.
• Fulfill unit expectations for leadership and clinical competencies.
• Delegate and assign tasks appropriately to optimize patient care.
• Float to other units as needed.
• Work every other weekend with no on-call requirement.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current RN license in the state of employment or a compact license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of one year nursing experience in a relevant specialty preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Completion of orientation and competency validation as required for new hires.

Schedule:

• Night shifts, 7 PM to 7 AM, full-time.
• Weekend rotation every other weekend.
