Provide specialized care within an acute care setting focused on elderly patients in need of medical-surgical and telemetry support. This contract role offers an opportunity to work nights on a dynamic 36-bed unit dedicated to delivering high-quality care for a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care on the West 4 Acute Care of Elderly (ACE) and Alternate Level of Care (ALC) Unit
- Monitor and manage telemetry patients, utilizing critical thinking and clinical skills
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic charting
- Adhere to facility policies, protocols, and safety standards
- Maintain flexibility to meet scheduling needs including weekends and holidays
Qualifications:
- Current, active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of recent medical-surgical/telemetry nursing experience; 2 years preferred
- For internationally educated nurses, at least 2 years of recent U.S. work experience required
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing unit demands and schedules
- Residence located over 50 miles from the facility
Shift & Schedule:
- Night shifts, 12 hours (7 PM 7 AM)
- 36 to 48 hours per week options available
- One weekend shift per week or two weekend shifts every other weekend
- Commitment to work at least one holiday during the 16-week contract duration
