Job Description

A registered nurse with telemetry experience is needed for night shift coverage on a surgical telemetry unit. This 13-week contract role offers flexible scheduling options of 36 or 48 guaranteed hours weekly in a well-equipped facility with advanced technology and a collaborative care environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care following the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort and safety
  • Provide care for patients post-trauma, surgical intervention, and medical comorbidities on a 32-bed telemetry unit
  • Maintain professional accountability and comply with patient rights, confidentiality, and institutional standards
  • Float on a rotational basis within the unit as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current RN license meeting Missouri state requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient telemetry experience
  • BLS certification from AHA (required), ACLS certification preferred
  • Completion of 4 trauma credits or within first two weeks of assignment
  • NIHSS certification required prior to starting assignment
  • Strong drug titration knowledge and a calm, communicative approach suited for specialty surgery patients (GI/GU/ENT/Urology)

Shift & Schedule:

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Weekend hours as required by the facility
  • 36 or 48 weekly guaranteed hours (must specify on submission)
