Job Description

A registered nurse with telemetry experience is needed for a night shift assignment in Overland Park, KS. This 13-week contract position offers 36 hours per week, working 3 twelve-hour night shifts. The role requires floating to all acute care units and includes holiday and weekend rotations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and care for patients on the telemetry unit
  • Manage cardiac drips such as Heparin, Butamax, Lasix, and Cardizem
  • Assist with TR Band care post-procedure
  • Participate in Tikosyn and Sotalol initiation processes
  • Utilize the EPIC electronic medical records system
  • Float across acute care units as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Kansas RN license
  • Minimum one year of recent telemetry nursing experience required; 2-5 years preferred
  • Competence in managing telemetry cardiac drips and post-procedure care including TR Bands
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Familiarity with Tikosyn/Sotalol initiation protocols

Schedule Details:

  • Night shifts: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 3 shifts per week, 36 hours total
  • Weekend rotation every other weekend
  • Holiday shifts required for Christmas Eve or Day and New Years Eve or Day

Additional Information:

  • Orientation includes initial 8-hour session at main campus followed by Olathe-specific training and virtual Epic system instruction
  • Facility operates on a nicotine-free policy
  • Bi-weekly pay schedule
  • Minimal on-call duties
  • Shifts may be canceled with at least 2-hour notice
