An opportunity is available for an RN with Telemetry experience to provide patient care in an Acute Care unit in Otto, NC. This contract position offers the chance to work with a skilled team in a hospital dedicated to delivering concierge-level service to an affluent community. The 24-bed unit focuses on providing quality care primarily for geriatric patients and individuals requiring inpatient rehabilitation (swing bed patients).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to patients on the acute care Telemetry unit
- Manage patient caseloads with ratios of approximately 6-7:1
- Perform minor procedures and advanced wound care
- Utilize Cerner documentation system to maintain accurate patient records
- Adhere to unit policies and standards, including wearing a navy top and white bottoms uniform
- Collaborate effectively with a team in the absence of unit secretaries or tech staff during some shifts
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN licensure with Telemetry nursing experience
- Experience caring for geriatric or inpatient rehab (swing bed) patients
- Advanced wound care skills are highly valued
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and CPI certifications preferred
Scheduling:
- Variable shifts available, primarily three 12-hour shifts per week

While recruitment can be challenging due to the region, the unit maintains stability and a positive work atmosphere with minimal float requirements.
