Providing expert care in a fast-paced telemetry unit requires a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse. Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized nursing care to patients in the Telemetry Unit, focusing on cardiac conditions and procedures.
  • Administer and monitor cardiac drips such as Heparin, Butamax, Lasix, and Cardizem.
  • Manage and support patients through procedures involving TR Bands and initiation of medications like Tikosyn and Sotalol.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Be prepared to float to other acute care units as needed.
  • Participate in orientation and training activities, including EPIC EMR system use.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Kansas RN license.
  • Minimum of 1 year recent telemetry nursing experience, with preference for 2-5 years.
  • Proficiency in handling cardiac drips and experience with TR Band post-procedure care.
  • Familiarity with the initiation of Tikosyn/Sotalol medication protocols.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Comfortable working 3 night shifts per week (1900-0730) with every other weekend rotation.
  • Ability to adhere to holiday shift requirements, including work on designated holidays.

Additional Details:

  • This is a 13-week contract with a 36-hour workweek on a night shift schedule.
  • Orientation includes 8 hours at the main campus followed by on-site and virtual training sessions.
  • The facility maintains a nicotine-free environment and uses the EPIC electronic medical records system.
  • No on-call duties required.
