Advance your nursing career by providing high-quality patient care on a vibrant surgical telemetry unit during a 13-week contract opportunity. This night shift position offers the chance to care for a diverse patient population, including specialty surgery cases such as GI, GU, ENT, and urology, in a well-equipped, reputable hospital recognized for its commitment to safety and innovation.
Schedule / Hours
- Night shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
- Guaranteed hours: 36 or 48 per week (must be indicated upon submission)
- Weekend hours as required
- No call requirements
- Rotational floating to similar units
Qualifications
- Current RN license eligible for Missouri or active Missouri RN license
- BLS certification from AHA (required)
- NIHSS certification, or willingness to obtain prior to start
- 4 trauma credits (or complete within first two weeks)
- At least one year of inpatient telemetry experience, including drug titration skills
- ACLS from AHA preferred
- Experience with trauma and surgical patients is a plus
- Calm, collaborative communication style
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, develop care plans, and deliver direct patient care for surgical telemetry patients
- Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Coordinate care with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort and outcomes
- Maintain professional accountability and ensure patient rights and confidentiality
- Adhere to hospital and nursing standards, policies, and physical requirements, including lifting and patient transfers
- Orient on days during onboarding and demonstrate adaptability to varied patient ratios (night: 1:61:8)
