A nursing professional skilled in med/surg telemetry care is needed for a contract role located in New Berlin, WI. This opportunity offers the chance to work with diverse medical/surgical patients within a Level IV Trauma Center providing high-quality acute care services. A support team including CNAs, techs, RNs, and rapid response resources ensures a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years RN med/surg experience
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
- Ability to manage telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
- Competency in tracheostomy care, chest tubes, wound vacs, and medication titrations including Lasix, Insulin, Heparin drip management
- Comfortable using EMR systems (EPIC), IV pumps (Alaris), and medication dispensing technology (Pyxis)
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Provide safe, efficient care for telemetry med/surg patients with average ratios up to 6:1, depending on staffing
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members for holistic patient management
- Support unit operations through flexible floating assignments to other med/surg units as directed
- Adhere to facility protocols, maintain documentation accuracy, and participate in orientation/competency checking
Schedule/Hours:
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Weekend rotation every other weekend
- Holiday rotation every other major holiday
- 6-week schedule cycles with no on-call requirements
