Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver nursing care to patients in medical-surgical and telemetry units, managing patients with diverse diagnoses.
  • Perform tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and PIV starts while monitoring vital signs closely.
  • Administer and titrate common drips such as insulin and heparin according to protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with CNAs, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapists and hospitalists available 24/7.
  • Utilize EMR systems (EPIC) and operate monitoring and infusion equipment efficiently.
  • Float as needed among Med/Tele units to provide flexible staffing support.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience.
  • Current RN license with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred; competency exam in EKG required during onboarding.
  • Skills in tracheostomy and chest tube care, intravenous therapies, and glucose monitoring.
  • Med-Surg certification is a strong plus.
