Job Description

A skilled Registered Nurse with Telemetry expertise is needed to provide exceptional patient care in a night shift role located in Marksville, LA. This full-time contract opportunity offers a chance to apply your clinical knowledge in managing complex cardiac patients including those with MI, CHF, arrhythmias, and PVD, along with some med-surg overflow cases. The position involves monitoring cardiac drips and administering medications per protocol in a setting with a nurse-to-patient ratio generally 5:1.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver thorough nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Manage complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social patient needs with professionalism.
  • Administer medications and monitor treatment effectiveness, documenting all care and patient data accurately.
  • Provide patient and family education tailored to their needs and resources.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members and delegate appropriately to maintain quality care.
  • Adhere to organizational competencies and nursing standards, including ongoing competence validation.

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license in the state of employment or compact license.
  • BLS Certification from AHA required.
  • ACLS Certification from AHA required.
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in telemetry or related nursing specialty preferred.

Work Schedule & Details:

  • Night shift: 7PM to 7AM.
  • Every other weekend required.
  • Floating to other units may be needed.
  • Full-time contract with the possibility of temp-to-perm employment.
