A full-time nursing opportunity is available in La Luz, NM, offering a rewarding clinical environment focused on medical, surgical, and respiratory patient care. This contract role requires a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) ready to provide both routine and complex nursing care, demonstrating independent practice and sound clinical judgment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care in alignment with professional standards, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Manage diverse patient needs, addressing psychological, emotional, cultural, and social factors.
- Administer medications and treatments, monitor patient response, and document all care accurately.
- Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers to support health and recovery.
- Participate in shift responsibilities, including weekends and on-call rotations, while maintaining flexibility to float between units such as Medical/Surgical, Behavioral Health, Joint, or Emergency Department when necessary.
- Adhere to organizational competency frameworks, including leadership at various levels.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
- Minimum of one year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
- Current RN license in New Mexico or eligible for compact licensure.
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Successful completion of organizational and MedSurg-specific competency validations.
- Participation in residency or orientation programs as applicable.
Work Schedule:
- Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Weekend requirement: 6 shifts every 6 weeks.
- Call requirement: 2 shifts every 6 weeks.
