Job Description

Provide skilled nursing care in a specialized Acute Care unit focused on geriatric and inpatient rehabilitation patients at a well-regarded healthcare facility located in Highlands, NC. This position involves working variable shifts on a contract basis, delivering compassionate, high-quality care to an affluent patient community expecting concierge-level service.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage patient care for swing bed and geriatric patients using advanced wound care techniques.
  • Perform minor procedures as required by the unit.
  • Utilize Cerner for accurate and timely documentation.
  • Adhere to unit guidelines and maintain professional dress code (navy or navy top with white bottoms).
  • Collaborate effectively with nursing staff in a team-oriented environment despite no additional HUC or tech support.
  • Maintain certifications such as BLS, with ACLS and CPI preferred.
  • Work scheduled shifts of three 12-hour days with minimal floating expectations.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active RN license with recent experience in geriatric or inpatient rehabilitation care.
  • Proficiency in wound care and minor clinical procedures.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records, particularly Cerner.
  • Current BLS certification; ACLS and CPI certifications preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a cohesive team.
