Job Description

A rewarding opportunity for a Registered Nurse specializing in Telemetry awaits in Grafton, WI. This contract role offers the chance to contribute across multiple medical-surgical units within a dynamic hospital setting known for its Level III Trauma Center, Level II NICU, and Primary Stroke Center designations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide skilled nursing care as a float nurse across multiple medical-surgical units, including General Surgical, Cardiac Neuro, Oncology, Orthopedics, Cardiac Telemetry, Surgical Surge Unit, and ED Holding.
  • Manage patients with diverse conditions such as post-operative care, cardiac and neurological disorders, oncology cases, and general medical concerns.
  • Utilize cardiac rhythm interpretation and manage drains (JP, hemovac), NGTs, central lines (PICC), continuous bladder irrigation, dressing changes, wound care, and wound vacs.
  • Collaborate with charge nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and other team members to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Support units by floating as a helping hand in ICUs or other specialty areas within nursing scope.
  • Use charting systems like EPIC and equipment such as Alaris and Pyxis to maintain accurate patient records and medication administration.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active RN license with at least one year of nursing experience.
  • Strong general medical-surgical skills and telemetry experience.
  • Certifications including BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale.
  • Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and manage complex nursing procedures.
  • Comfortable with floating and adjusting to different unit environments.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM.
  • Weekend rotation every other weekend.
  • Holiday shifts based on schedule.
  • Six-week schedule provided 1-2 weeks in advance.
  • No on-call duties.
